As atribulações de um polvo

Paul, um simples polvo com o aparente dom de adivinhar resultados de jogos de futebol, não tem a vida fácil. Se bem que em Espanha é considerado herói e até alvo de homenagens, na Alemanha é alvo de ódios extremos e ameaças gastronómicas. Como se esta última não fosse suficiente para assustar qualquer polvo, oráculo ou não, Paul é agora alvo do Presidente iraniano, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, que o acusa de ser um símbolo do imperialismo ocidental e de tudo o que está errado no ocidente:

“Those who believe in this type of thing cannot be the leaders of the global nations that aspire, like Iran, to human perfection, basing themselves in the love of all sacred values,” he said.

Ninguém acreditará em nada, foi apenas “futebol” e todo um espectáculo que é sempre montado por ele; mas um líder que perde o seu tempo a discutir um polvo também não poderá aspirar a muito.
